Buyer satisfaction firsthand
Fully satisfied. Very honest communication, clear payment instructions, and the vehicle arrived exactly as described. The whole process felt organized and professional.
This 1965 Volkswagen Type 2 camper was acquired in 2018 by the owner, who subsequently commissioned refurbishments and modifications carried out between 2018 and 2021 by Dreams 2 Reality Customs and Extreme Bus Builders. Work included body repairs and a repaint in the factory shade of Sea Blue, installation of a 2.5-liter EJ25 Subaru flat-four, modifying the four-speed manual transaxle, and fitting a tan canvas JBugs pop-up top, as well as an Airkewld PRObuilt lowering kit with an IRS conversion, and an AirKewld BAD Series four-wheel disc brake conversion kit. Interior modifications at that time included custom white vinyl and grey tweed upholstery, air conditioning, a Memphis Audio Bluetooth stereo, a rear-view camera, a convertible bed, and a rear kitchenette with a Smad-brand refrigerator and an electric faucet. Additional features include 15″ ACC steel wheels, a luggage rack, USB ports, a 110-volt shore power connection, and roof-mounted solar panels. Service in 2024 included replacing the battery, thermostat, and alternator, as well as re-routing the coolant pipes. This Type 2 bus is now offered for sale with records from the refurbishment and a clean Missouri title.
The bus is said to have been specified from the factory in Sea Blue, and was stripped and underwent body repairs in 2020 before being repainted to match with a white upper section. Equipment includes a tan canvas JBug pop-up center roof section featuring velcro flaps, roof-mounted solar panels, white-painted bumpers with overriders, H4 headlights, a roof rack with wooden slats and raised rails, pop-out side windows, a 110-volt shore power connection, and safari front windows.
The 15″ steel wheels feature chrome trim rings and VW-stamped hubcaps and are wrapped in 185/65 Kumho Solus KH16 tires. The van has been fitted with an Airkewld PRObuilt lowering kit featuring an independent rear suspension conversion, drop spindles, and adjustable shocks. Stopping power is provided by an AirKewld BAD Series four-wheel disc brake conversion featuring grey Wilwood multi-piston calipers, BAD series rotors, and a dual-circuit master cylinder.
The cab features power-adjustable front bucket seats sourced from a circa-2010 Range Rover that are upholstered in grey tweed and white vinyl upholstery that extends to the rear bench. Appointments include air conditioning, a Memphis Audio Bluetooth marine media center wired to a five-speaker Polk Audio system, a rear-view camera, a Jamar roller accelerator pedal, a Megatronix Mega 110 alarm system, USB charging ports, and a center console with cupholders.
The rear compartment features bamboo flooring, 12-volt power outlets, a touch-screen switch panel that controls the custom multi-color LED ambient lighting and under-seat strobe lights, and a back seat that converts into a bed. The electrical system features a dual-battery setup managed by a Battek voltage-sensitive relay and a Xantrex XPower 1500-watt inverter, which powers multiple integrated 110-volt household outlets. The custom white cabinetry features a walnut countertop, a Smad-brand refrigerator, an integrated sink linked to an electric bottled water dispensing pump, and a counter-top induction burner.
The steering wheel fronts an aftermarket gauge with a 120-mph speedometer with an inset tachometer, and a fuel gauge. An Equus water temperature gauge is mounted in the overhead console. The six-digit odometer shows 852 miles, which is said to represent the miles added since the build was completed.
The Subaru EJ25 SOHC flat-four was installed in 2020 with a SubiSwaps conversion kit. Service in December 2024 included replacing the battery, alternator, and thermostat, as well as re-routing the cold-side radiator hoses underneath the rear axle.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that was modified by AirKewld in 2018 with a Super Differential, a heavy-duty side plate, welded gears, and steel shift forks.

Just closed on our second purchase through them. Smooth both times. Good updates, no confusion on documents, and delivery was handled better than expected.
Very good experience overall. The car arrived in good condition and matched the listing well. Shipping took a little longer than I first expected, but their team kept me informed the whole time.
Great experience. The support team was helpful from the beginning and made everything easy to understand. We would absolutely consider buying through them again.
